It is the heart of “Luci sul Trasimeno”, which in its 2026/27 edition runs from 5 December to 6 January. How is the Christmas tree on Lake Trasimeno made?

It is a feat of electrical engineering built right in the lake: according to the organisers it can only be made on the shallow waters of Trasimeno. The lights trace the outline of the tree on the surface, held up by 166 poles, and the show is never the same twice: shape, brightness and reflections change with where you watch from and with the weather.
